Brooks Wealth Gives Back

There is no doubt that 2020 will go down in history as an eventful year! What do you do during troubling times? Hopefully, you reach out to someone for support. We rely on the people around us, be it in good or in bad. And that also goes the other way. Here are some of the things the team at Brooks Wealth have been up to, to “give a little back”.

Food Hampers during Half Term

With the announcement that the government would not fund free school meals during Half Term, our receptionist, Melissa Jones, took to Facebook to offer a hot lunchtime snack to any family who was feeling the pinch! Little did she know that this initiative would garner huge community support from local residents, businesses and Parish Council. What started out as a toasted sandwich resulted in the coordination of “Weekly Shop” food parcels delivered across the city, from her front room! The initiative, which she named “Hampton Helpers”, fed 22 low income families throughout Peterborough.

Wildflowers in Werrington

Following a plea on Facebook by David Gwyer, asking for community support to plant wildflower seeds in Werrington, team members Debbie Edis and Lisa Baggley donned their wellies and got stuck in! David has been running this initiative for several years, with the intention of creating a natural environment for the local wildlife, including the bees and butterflies. We hope that, by the Spring, the area along Davids Lane in Werrington will be looking beautiful, so keep a look out if passing.

Brooks Wealth Titans

On the 19th October, the Brooks Wealth Titans attended a golf day, organised by the Peterborough Rotary Club. Despite finishing in 19th place, it was a very enjoyable day and, more importantly, raised just over £3,800 for Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice & Peterborough Rotary Club Charities!
